A customer who alleged that she fell while ordering a meal at a Mexican fast food restaurant sued for negligence. The roof was leaking which caused a puddle of water to form. She slipped and fell backwards and hit her head on the floor.

“The Ten Worst insurance Companies in America” was published by the American Association for Justice a few years back. That organization did an exhaustive study and published their findings in a 28 page report that shocked many consumers.

Storms or accidents can cause a business to be shut down for several days or even weeks. Most small businesses would really be hurt by having to shut down. Of course you have insurance for fires or weather events but that doesn’t always compensate you for the money you lose while you are shut down.

I’ve often wished I had a crystal ball so I could know exactly what the future holds. Unfortunately, we can’t know for sure what will happen in the future. The best we can do is try to be prepared for what might happen.
