If you own a home or business that was built between 1950 and 1985, you may have a Federal Pacific Electric Stab-Lok breaker panel. The company is no longer in business but many homes still have their breaker panels. The manufacturer of the Stab-Lok breakers committed fraud over many years by issuing UL labels to their products when they did not meet Underwriter Lab standards.
These breakers don’t always trip when they are overloaded which could easily cause a fire. Please make sure you do not have one of these breaker panels. Call a licensed electrician if you have any questions.
